Dermapen is recommended for treating:
Dermapen’s advanced vertical skin needling technology uses multiple needles that vertically pierce the skin with an automatic vibrating function. When moved across the skin’s surface it creates fine channels in the skin, stimulating natural collagen reproduction. The channels can carry up to 80% more topical nutrients, allowing for treatment delivery deep into the skin’s fibroblasts to feed the underlying cells found in the dermis and basal layer. This increased absorption of the active ingredients into the skin creates stimulated repair and faster resurfacing results.
Advanced vertical skin needling promotes scar-less healing and the regeneration of normal woven collagen, similar to fractional laser treatments but without the side effects or downtime.
Unlike traditional skin needling rollers, the Dermapen causes less trauma and has minimal epidermal (skin) damage, therefore reducing pain and discomfort, making it a safer more effective treatment. The disposable needles eliminate risk of cross-contamination, and the adjustable needle depths allow for a treatment that is tailored to your individual needs.
The Dermapen offers a new option for patients wanting to avoid the embarrassment of acne scarring and wrinkles. It is a safe, comfortable and effective alternative to laser resurfacing. Dermapen skin microneedling treatment is indicated for all skin types, and when performed in a series, provides great results with little to no down time.
Dermapen treatment uses multiple fine needles that vertically pierce the skin in rapid succession. This action helps promote epidermal healing which is the primary function needed for collagen stimulation, fibroblast creation and the growth of elastin fibers. Unlike dermal skin rollers, Dermapen uses a precisely-controlled stamping method to reach a set depth in the skin while minimizing excess damage to the epidermis. The automatic vibrating function of the Dermapen™ increases the effectiveness of treatment by increasing absorption of products, while reducing pain and discomfort.
How is the treatment administered?
Skin needling procedures are performed in a safe and precise manner with the use of the sterile DermaPen needle head. The procedure is normally completed within 30-60 minutes depending on the required treatment and anatomical site. Before the procedure starts a topical anesthetic will be applied to your skin to ensure a comfortable experience. After the skin is numbed, the technician gently moves the DermaPen over your skin to puncture the epidermis layers of the skin and create miniscule sub-cutaneous injuries. These microscopic wounds stimulate new collagen deposition which may last for up to a year, yet they close within less than an hour.
What areas of the body can be treated with Dermapen?
Dermapen is extremely versatile and can be used on all parts of the body including Face, neck, decollete, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back. This versatility makes Dermapen especially helpful when addressing acne scars on the back and stretch marks on the body.
How does the skin appear after the treatment?
After the procedure the client’s skin will be red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. The client will also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatments and within the next 24 hours the skin will be completely healed. After 3 days there is barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place.
How quickly are results visible?
Visible results of skin rejuvenation are generally seen after just 6-8 weeks following procedure and improve further over time. A course of 4-6 DermaPen sessions is usually recommended to achieve optimum results; however skin improvement is noticeable after just one treatment.
